POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS

The FHI offers up to two fellowship positions each year for external (non-Duke) scholars. Recent PhDs and all un-tenured scholars in the humanities and interpretive social sciences are eligible to apply. Applicants must have PhD in hand by the beginning of the fellowship year (August 24, 2009). The fellowship provides a stipend of $40,000, access to health and dental benefits, and up to $3,000 in research and travel funds.
Postdoctoral fellows will participate in the FHI Annual Seminar and teach one course during the fellowship term. Co-convened by Duke faculty miriam cooke (Asian and Middle Eastern Studies) and Fred Moten (English), the 2009-10 Seminar, Innovating Forms, will explore the role of form in the production of knowledge and the meanings and articulations of innovation.
