DUKE/UNC-CHAPEL HILL EXCHANGE FELLOWSHIPS

Since 2007-2008, the FHI has offered one fellowship each year for a scholar in the humanities, humanistic social sciences, and arts at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. This opportunity is coordinated with UNC’s Institute for the Arts & Humanities (IAH). In the program, one UNC faculty fellow participates in the FHI Annual Seminar, while two Duke faculty members take one-semester fellowships at the IAH as a part of their pre-arranged sabbatical leave. The objective of the program is to contribute to the already-strong relationship between Duke and our neighbors in Chapel Hill, and to provide a Duke faculty member with an unrestricted, one-semester fellowship. No funding is involved.

Interested UNC-Chapel Hill faculty should contact IAH Director John McGowan, Director, or Executive Director Megan Granda. Interested Duke faculty should contact FHI Director Srinivas Aravamudan.

The application process and deadlines for the 2009-10 cycle will be announced in fall 2008.
